This is a beautiful hotel! Very clean and well maintained. I enjoyed the lush atrium area early every morning. I could find a quiet sitting area to read and relax before the kids woke up. The breakfast selection was very good. If we ever make it back to Destin we would stay here again. The only negative, it was difficult to find. GPS left us 10 miles short of location. Front desk clerk said everyone has trouble finding the place. Once we learned our way around it was a great area.

It was like every other Embassy Suites, which means it was not a great "beach hotel". The description indicates that it is across the street from the beach. This isn't exactly true. The hotel is across from a lot with three empty buildings. To reach the beach you must cross a busy street, walk 60 yards to a gate, emter in a security code, walk another 40 yards to two sets of stairs, then try to find the beach service dudes for a chair and umbrella (good luck). Get there early if you want front row. Jelly fish were thick during our visit and our 12 year old was stung even though the purple flag was not flying. The staff's advice on handling the sting was very helpful. Would have been more helpful if they thad sold the "Sting-away" the reccomended in the gift shop. X at the front desk was always very polite and helpful. The Gulf-view room we paid extra for had better view of the lot and abandoned buildings across the street then of the Gulf. If you looked very carefully between two buildings we could see about 10 feet of surf. No place to hang beach towels and suits to dry and only two VERY busy washers and dryers to service the entire Hotel. The complimentary breakfast was busy understaffed and overcrowded. The staff started shutting it down dead on schedule, even though people were still inline and still eating. Bellmen would have been a nice touch. Overall, we will find someplace else to stay for our next trip to Destin.

Like the title states,, I was completely floored by the hospitality of this hotel! The Director of Sales, Faith Whitaker, is simply amazing! The GM for the hotel is quite lucky to have this employee working there! Let me explain, I am currently serving another tour in Afghanistan. I have missed my daughters last 3 birthdays because of deployments. I was able to get my R & R leave to cover the day of her birthday. I made reservations through travelocity and everything was set. About two weeks before my check in date, I emailed the hotel to ask if they could give me any ideas to help make my daughters birthday a very memorable one. I was expecting at most maybe a list of child activities or something along those lines. Faith Whitaker emailed me back and told me she'd take care of everything for me. I was very pleased with that response and expected nothing more. When I checked into my hotel room,, the look on my daughters face was priceless! The staff at the hotel had decorated the room prior to our check in. Happy birthday banners and balloons were all over the place. Faith had picked up a Bratz doll and had it in a birthday gift bag with my daughters name on it, and they had also given us an Embassy Suites bath time get up for a Buid-a-Bear thing. Thinking this was entirely too good to be true,, I was additionally surprised by 3 one day passes to a local water park and a meal courtesy of O'Charleys! All of this was done as a special birthday treat for my daughter. The only thing I can say about this hotel is,,,, WOW! My daughter LOVED it!!!!!
