Before / After Cruise? Great Room / Great Price!

Check out the LaQuinta at the Miami Airport location. We needed a place just for the night prior to our cruise. The FREE airport shuttle was fantastic..On time and did I mention “free"”? The room was clean; the “free” internet wi-fi; great; the more than continental breakfast (cereal, toast, boiled eggs, juice, waffles, bagels, coffee) and free shuttle to Miami’s port…all for about $* a night. The front desk was amazingly friendly and helpful. The shuttle driver was prompt and polite. I am positive I will be staying at this hotel again. I could not have asked for a better bargain for my money. The only complaint I have on this place is that the location is a bit far from major attractions. But, I am currently at a South Beach hotel which is totally not worth the price I paid (in fact almost double the price of La Quinta) I would have been better off staying at this hotel and taxi'ing to South Beach to see the sites! End result? Honestly, it’s not the Ritz but it is well worth the money you'll spend. Stay at this hotel. It gives you everything it promises and is well worth the price!

We chose this hotel based on other reviews. It is the only hotel we found that provides shuttle to and from the airport & to the cruise ports. You find your own way back from the port. It is a clean place with friendly staff. Over all a good experience. However it is not located near any of the main attractions, so plan on renting a car or paying the high taxi fares if you are staying a couple of days before or after the cruise and want to go somewhere other than the airport or cruise ports. The Embassy Suites next door has e-z rent a car and across the street is an Enterprise rent a car. I would advise reserving one ahead of time, we found out the hard way that they run out of cars quickly.

1 - the hotel is in direct flight path of outbound jets from the airport...so if noise bothers you, it is a factor to consider. 2 - it may have been a busy weekend, but the continental breakfast I experienced was not much more than toast, bagels and orange "drink" - all of which were constantly running out. 3 - the "non-smoking" rooms didn't smell like it...some kind of room freshener was used, leaving a strange, musty smell to everything. TV reception was hit-and-miss as well - I don't understand fuzzy reception with cable...? Other than that, maid and desk staff were courteous and helpful. And the pool looked clean and well-maintained, although I didn't have the opportunity to use it.

We stayed here on our way to a cruise and loved it. Very nice room good shower, clean and friendly staff. Nice enough breakfast to get you going. When we got there the outside of the hotel seemed like it was the runway and we worried about the noise but never heard a thing from our room so don;t worry about the closeness to the airport. Free shuttle to the port a huge reason to stay there. Very organized shuttle service! Will definetly do it again if we cruise from Miami. If driving a tad difficult to get to due to one way street but worth the effort. By leaving our car there while we cruised the room payed for itself. Nice beds and great room will stay again.

Hotel was very nice. We stated twice...two weeks apart. We took someone to the Airport and had to go back to pick them up. Free shuttle to the airport was a huge help and ran often enough so as not to be late. Rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable. Pool was nice as well. The free breakfast in the morning was wonderful. Make your own waffles, bagels, muffins, cereal, fruit, juice, milk, coffee and toast with toppings. All fresh and tasty and enough to fill everyone up and hold them till lunch. For being right next to the airport it was remarkably quiet and the planes could be heard but not to where we couldn't talk, watch tv or sleep. The only problem we had was in the communication with the front desk people. They spoke very little English and I speak no Spanish. So getting them to understand what we needed and wanted was difficult. I feel if you work in this country, learn the language!! They should require the help to learn to speak fluent English. That was the only problem we had. I would recommend this hotel. But it will help if you brush up on your Spanish. In fact that will go a long way in helping you all around town as in many stores the clerks speak no English. I found that problem in a Walgreens and a Bells. So brush up on the Spanish...but still would stay again.
