Great motel: 1) Not a cookie-cutter pop-up at a freeway exit, this place has distinctive location and style 2) Very quiet room (in Casa Del Mar building) and super comfortable bedding. 3) 42" flat screen 4) Two heated pools and hot tubs (outdoors to enjoy the night's tranquility) 5) Seems to capture the essence of San Diego and its warm, friendly lifestyle. 6) Oversized breakfasts (but not free) 7) Free parking 8) What other motels wish they could be

The hotel was pretty much what the BW and travelocity websites described. The location was calm and serene compared to town, with a walking path by the bay. Good restaurant. I paid extra for the water view, but would have been happier with the side toward the marina rather than the bay view. Main pool and spa were quite nice. Would like to have tried second pool

10/07/2009Went with two friends for a wedding and stayed here. it's close to the airport, but not so close the noise is a factor. right near everything - beaches, gaslight ...
Went with two friends for a wedding and stayed here. It's close to the airport, but not so close the noise is a factor. Right near everything - beaches, Gaslight District, Balboa Park. Staff was great, got a free upgrade without asking to a huge room. The only problem we had was one night the parking lot was completely packed and we got stuck parking elsewhere - but in fairness we didn't tell the staff about the problem.

The location is superb. The check-in staff was very personable and helpful. The room was small but clean. I would recommend this place, it was my first time here but won't be the last. Beautiful view of the marina and sooooo peaceful.
