stayed 1 night for our 27 th anniversary (we stay at different hotels every year in St. Augustine for the last 10 years). After 2 hrs in the room a 4 inch crab walked out from under the dresser and scared my wife she almost stepped on it, when i asked for another room they were full and couldnt help, after several attempts i caught the crab, when i showed the hotel they thought it was cool and said thats normal for florida! I live here and stay at several hotels yearly and have never seen a crab in my room! at about 11 p.m i killed a cockroach on the ceiling above my bed,I guess thats what the crab was trying to eat. When i asked about the wildlife at check out they just said thats florida,no appoligies or discounts for sleeping with 1 eye open, all this for $* a night room?? for $ * a night maby, but sleep with your shoes on, and under a net, would NOT stay here again.

This hotel was "okay". The staff is what really made it enjoyable, they were very nice and courteous throughout our entire stay. The "continental breakfast" is free and I can see why....egg patties, sausage links, cereal and raspberry yogurt are the only breakfast options. The location is great though, literally a 10-15 minute walk to Old Town and other attractions. Please take into consideration for those looking for quiet enjoyment that literally 15 feet from the back of the hotel is a train track and trains do go by at least a couple of times a day. All and all our stay was nice but I will look for someplace else to stay next time we go to St. Augustine.

We arrived early and were allowed to check in at 11;30. The staff was very polite and curtious. Frank, the manager, went out of his way to accomodate. Upon entering the room, it was very musty and the internet did not work. After a time, we were moved to another room. This room was cleaner and less smelly. After a few more problems with the internet, the problem was resolved and worked for the rest of the stay. Was in close proximity to many attractions and restaurants. The train was not an issue.

Not within walking distance to historic district and the tram only picks up at this hotel at 8:15 a.m. There are train tracks within 100 feet of rooms in the back of hotel and trains come by every hour and a half. Safety was a concern because of workers hanging around in back. Carpet was damp and musty smelling after having been just cleaned. Everything in the room worked but was old and needs updating. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was good. Staff was friendly.

The staff was very friendly and helpful calling a shuttle for a tour for us. The breakfast was very good. However safty was an issue to me.... I'm a 26 year traveling with my 85 year old grandmother and they put us on the back side of the hotel the only other people back there were a young couple on the other end of the building and 3-4 men in the room right next to us. I don't know if they were stay or working on the hotel rooms but they had a portable bbq set up and camping chairs outside their room and kept an annoying close eye on us coming and going. I'm not 100% i'd stay here again but only for the saftey issue everything else was wonderful other than some minor mold in the tub inclosure. oh and i was told the train tracks where hardley used..... hmmm yeah from 8pm till 8 am every 30 mins there was a train that should be made clearer to guests.
